We love you so much!

Our cousins came to town

Our cousins were here this weekend, and I think it was a great weekend. We did several Texas attractions, such as Schlitterbahn and Rudy's BBQ, downtown Austin and Casa Garcia's. All the kids were really good (for a bunch of 2 year olds!) and there really wasn't much fighting. It was great!
Katie and Karly are Mason and Autumn's second cousins. Tina and I are cousins on our mothers side (our moms are sisters). Tina and I had our 7th (or maybe 8th?) birthday party together as we are just 3 weeks apart. Mason and the girls are about 2 months apart. I didn't get to see Tina very much at all growing up as we were always moving around. I am glad Tina and them came down-I had so much fun with her and the girls. (and Donald too :) I hope as the kids get a little bigger we can do this again! Robert and I might have to try a trip to the east coast soon!
Yes, I did a bathtub picture.

The girls will use these in New Jersey! Hook 'em!

Austin Children's Museum

On Saturday, we all met my parents for lunch and then went to the Austin children's museum. Its just an indoor playground, but they have educational play areas that help build skills and such. It was too hot for another outdoor activity. All the kids loved it, and by the time we left were exhausted.
Autumn loved this slide

Grandma and Papa came for the adventure

Schlitterbahn

This weekend my cousin Tina and her family came for a visit. They live in New Jersey and decided to spend a weekend in Texas with us. We made plans to go to Schlitterbahn on Friday. This was a good idea. It was hot and it was a great place for us to spend a day to cool off. Katie and Karly are 2 months older than Mason, so they spent the day playing together on the slides and in the pool.
We did venture out and visit the pirate ship and submarine, but the majority of our day was in this pool. The kids were so comfortable with the slides and depth, plus it was not crowded at all. It also allowed moms and dads to relax a little too.
What a great day to spend in Texas heat and with family :)
Ready to get in the water!

Autumn loved this pool. She could walk around all on her own.

Go Karly Go!

Hide and Seek

Mason and I played hide and seek today. We have played variations of this game before, but today we took turns hiding and finding each other. It felt like we were playing a real game. Mason went to the same spot to hide each time-under his covers. It was really cute. Each time it was my turn Mason would count so fast I hardly had time to hide. The one time I actually got to hide daddy told Mason where I was. Little stinker!
After our game of hide and seek, Mason chased daddy around the house. Autumn and I joined in the rear and Autumn loved it. She giggled so much-I love hearing her laugh.
I also taught Mason how to flip in my arms. I hold Masons arms, he walks up my legs and flips himself over. I used to do this when I was a kid and loved it. It took us a few tries, but Mason got it and kept asking me to do it again. I did have to help him a little with flipping all the way over, but overall he was doing it himself. Today was just a day of new skills and adventures. Bring it on, tomorrow!

Lake Time

We took the boat out today and enjoyed several hours on the lake. We drove the boat fast (Mason's request), had lunch at the local restaurant, drove the boat fast again and went swimming. This was both of the kids first time getting in the water right off the boat. We invested in a ladder for our boat and I am very happy we did. Getting in the boat is much easier now. The kids were really good all day and both crashed out on the way home. Great way to wrap up our weekend!

Sliping n Sliding and a juice

Last weekend was hot (every weekend is HOT!) so we spent it playing in the water. Our neighbors dropped by for a bit. After sliping n sliding for a while, a juice break was much needed. The kids just happened to sit down a pose for a picture.....

Random but cute

Cheese!

Pickles...Yum!

Lee comes to play

Lee came to play with us today. I picked him up from school and Mason was so excited he had to come with me. We got home and the boys played hard. Mason enjoyed pushing Lee in the swing. I even got them to pose!
I wish I could say there was absoultely no fighting, but thats not completely true. There were a couple of minor tit for tats about toys, but they were easily overcome. At one point, Mason and Lee were climbing over each other trying to get up the slide. I was sure a fight would break out/someone would get hurt but they both made it up the slide and went about their business. I guess thats just how boys roll?
Autumn tried so hard to keep up. There was one part where she , then Lee, then Mason were all working their way up the slide at the same time. I should of taken a picture of that.

No Whataburger for Mommy

Tonight we went out to dinner. On the way out the door, Mason kept saying he wanted to go to Whataburger. Mommy is not the biggest fan of this place, so daddy was telling him we were going somewhere else because mommy doesn't want Whataburger today. Mason's response? "Lets go to Chick-fil-a. Mommy likes Chick-fil-a!"

Later, after we got home we were walking up and down the sidewalk and Autumn kept on turning in the opposite direction we wanted her to go. Already showing her independence :)

I Make You Happy

We have been struggling with Mason on his sharing his little table with Autumn. It is understandable as it has been his table for his entire life. However, Autumn is ready to start sitting at the table too and so we have been practicing at lunch and dinner this past week. Last night, I fed the kids dinner and sat them both at the little table. Mason was a little upset at first, but quickly calmed down and both kids ate very peacefully. Mason finished first and he and I sat by the sink as Autumn finished. I praised Mason, saying how happy he made mommy by sharing his table. Mason looks at me with a huge smile and says "I make you happy mommy." I told him yes, he makes me very happy and he said "I love you mommy."

After a huge hug and sweet kisses, he sat in my lap until Autumn was done.
